Toadal Control is not an html editor, like Dreamweaver or Frontpage. These products are not content managment systems.
Toadal Control is a true content managment system, in which data (content) is stored as pure data, that is words, pictures, links, files, emails, etc. This content is "skinned" with templates when displayed on screen. This means your content is stored centrally and can be referred to or repurposed throughout your site.

Toadal Control does not allow you to easily select some text and then change its colour, size and font because this usually leads to ugly, confusing web pages.
You can create levels of importance with navigation and you can bring your content alive with good writing and good graphics -- there is usually no need for styling the text itself. Headings and subheadings are styled according to a style sheet. If there is something you desperately want, let us build it into the system, don't apply it manually.
You can easily disobey these guidelines, however. simply use html tags and choose the "complex html" style from the drop-down menu above the text block.

Toadal Control is not a free standing package from a software developer like Microsoft. Toadal Control is a managed service. Toadal Control was initially developed as a way for the ToadShow web team to liberate ourselves from the tedious and error-prone task of building web pages from scratch in the old fashioned way.
Naturally, once we had given ourselves the tools to more effectively build and manage content, we started training our clients to update their sites with the same methods. Instead of charging by the hour, we started charging a fee for the use of Toadal Control. But the fee is only a small part of a larger service, including design, writing, photography, illustration, initial build, domain and hosting.
